The brand name ALAMBRA was established in 1982 at the village Alambra, south of the Cyprus capital, Nicosia. In 1996 we were forced to move to new facilities in Larnaca. In March 2009 due to the increase in productivity we gradually moved to our top of the line factory, which covers 2200m² and it’s the most modern and biggest factory in Cyprus.

Our company is using the newest methods in the dairy industry in combination with our knowledge, tradition and experience. We are equipped with the last and most evolved equipment and machinery in Cyprus and with respect towards the environment we assure and guarantee the quality of all our products. We also abide by all the production procedures of ISO 22000, IFS and BRC. The ownership of these certificates establishes our company as a pioneer amongst the rest dairy factories in Cyprus. Our company employees 50 fully trained individuals and is one of the biggest dairy production companies in Cyprus.

ALAMBRA has a big range of dairy products, like Halloumi cheese, Halloumi Light, Fresh and Dry Anari, Grated Cheese , Fetta Cheese and many types of yoghurts. Also Petrou Bros produce a range of products with a brand name “the Granny” with a big success in Cyprus and world market . “The Granny” products are Halloumi from sheep and goat milk ,Traditional Pure Yoghurt from Sheep milk and Trahanas soup.

For our products we use 100% fresh cow, sheep and goat milk. Specifically we use about 10 million liters cow milk and about 1 million liters sheep and goat milk yearly.

Our production in halloumi, which is our main product, in 2008, surpassed 1000 tons and we are estimating that in 2009 it will reach 1200 tons.

Our company exports the 80% of our production in foreign markets and 20% in Cyprus market.
Among others we export to Greece, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Australia and many more. At the same time we cooperate with large supermarket chains in Europe such as Hofer, Aldi, Lidl, Spar, Interspar, Sklavenitis and Veropoulos. We also supply our national guard, our hospitals and ELDYK.

The development and guaranteed quality of our products can be shown through our many distinctions throughout the years such as:

• The Exports Award for 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2006. (The final two were presented to us, by the late president Tasso Papadopoullo, during a special ceremony).
• A gold award in 2001 for the quality of our halloumi cheese and fetta cheese in a national contest with over 122 participants from the dairy industry.
• Awards by the E.U in 2003 and in 2008 for exemplary performance in exporting activities.
